OPINION:
President Joe Biden, 78, last week delivered a rambling and bizarre answer to a question from CNN host Don Lemon that prompted renewed questions about his mental acuity.
“When will children under 12 be able to get vaccinated?” Lemon asked. Here’s Biden answer (and we swear we’re not making this up):
“Soon, I believe. Now look, one of the things that I committed to do when I got elected, I said … The answer, soon in the sense that I do not tell any scientists what they should do, I do not interfere. And so, they are doing, they’re doing the examinations now, the testing now and making the decision now. When they are ready, when they’ve done all the scientific need be done to determine children at ages 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8, they, in fact, are, all have different makeups, they’re developing, they’re trying to figure out whether or not there’s a vaccination that would affect one child with, that’s at such and such an age and not another child.”
Wait, there’s more. “That’s underway, just like the other question is illogical, and I’ve heard you speak about it, because you always, I’m not being solicitous, but you’re always straight up about what you’re doing. And the question is whether or not we should be in a position where you, uh, um, are, why can’t the, the, the experts say we know that this virus is, in fact, uh, um, uh, it’s going to be, or excuse me, we, we know why all the drugs approved are not temporarily approved, but permanently approved, that’s underway, too, I expect that to occur quickly.”
Huh?
Biden is a self-described gaffe machine, but his meandering answers and weird lapses — now happening more frequently — are drawing new scrutiny.
After the town hall, former White House physician Ronny Jackson, who served under both Presidents Barack Obama and Donald Trump, told Fox News that he believes that Mr. Biden will be forced to resign or will face the 25th Amendment over issues related to his fitness for office.
Mr. Jackson, who now represents Texas’ 13th Congressional District, noted that he has been saying for a while that “something’s going on here.”
“And I’ve been saying that it’s only going to get worse, and guess what? We’re watching that happen right before our eyes right now,” Mr. Jackson said. “And I’m at the point right now where, you know, I went from, you know, telling people, we should be concerned about what might potentially be going on, to now saying, hey, what is happening right now?”
“Where are the people in our academic medicine that were out there calling for President Trump to have a cognitive test? Where are these people?” Mr. Jackson continued. “There’s something seriously going on with this man right now. And you know, I think that he’s either gonna’, he’s either gonna’ resign, they’re going to convince him to resign from office at some point in the near future for medical issues, or they’re going to have to use the 25th Amendment to get rid of this man right now. There’s some serious stuff going on right now.”
Then there was Mr. Biden’s answer when he was asked a question about whether some Democrats support the far-left “defund the police” movement.
“I’m the Democratic Party; I am president. So is the Speaker of the House and so is the, the Majority Leader,” Mr. Biden claimed. “We are not the defunding the police.”
“OK,” a reporter said. “And are there people who — in the Democratic Party, who want to defund the police?”
“Are there people in the Republican Party who think we’re sucking the blood out of kids?” Mr. Biden said.
Mr. Jackson went even further in a Twitter post.
“Our cities are EXPLODING with drugs & violence because of Democrat ’defund the police’ policies and the GREAT UNITER Joe Biden deflects to talk about ’sucking blood out of kids.’ He’s completely LOST it! Needs a cognitive exam NOW!”
The mainstream media, of course, never mention Mr. Biden’s bizarre behavior. But it has drawn notice worldwide.
At the G-7 summit in England last month, Mr. Biden tried to correct British Prime Minister Boris Johnson for not introducing “the president of South Africa” — even though Mr. Johnson had just moments before introduced him by name. World leaders around the table laughed at Mr. Biden, who looked befuddled.
There’s always been talk that Mr. Biden will be a one-term president. And then there was the odd statement he made in December 2020 during an interview with CNN while answering a question about how he planned to resolve a dispute he was having with Vice President Kamala Harris.
“I will develop some disease and say I have to resign,” Mr. Biden said.
So don’t be surprised if that happens.
