FedEx bought Kinko’s in 2004 and rebranded the stores under the name FedEx Office in 2008, which might explain why, as Vce President Kamala Harris observed, people who live in rural communities have no Kinko’s near them (“Kamala Harris: The portrait of how desperation slides into frantic idiocy,” Web, July 13). Oh, the horror!

Apparently Harris is not aware of the high level of technological sophistication now required of farmers. They and members of their communities, however rural, are not cave dwellers. They’ll grapple with the challenges of obtaining a copy of their identification — and odds are, they’ll get it figured out.
