ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Maryland’s minimum wage is going up.

Starting Friday, the minimum wage goes up 75 cents to $11.75 for people who work for employers with 15 or more employees. The minimum wage rises to $11.60 for employees at businesses with 14 or fewer employees.

It’s the latest increase that is part of legislation approved in 2019 by the Maryland General Assembly. The measure raised the wage from $10.10 to $11 in 2020.

Under the 2019 law, the minimum wage is scheduled to go up 75 cents a year until it reaches $15 in 2025.
