Aaron Rodgers is getting another ring.

Just not that ring.

The Green Bay Packers quarterback won the MVP award for the third time in his career Saturday night, a decision largely expected after Rodgers threw 48 touchdowns and 4,299 yards in the regular season. The Packers lost the NFC Championship to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, leaving Rodgers to miss out on a chance to win a second Super Bowl.

In his MVP acceptance speech, though, the 37-year-old dropped some more surprising news — he got engaged.

“It’s an honor to win this award for the third time,” Rodgers said during the broadcast. “2020 was definitely a crazy year, filled with lots of change, growth, some amazing memorable moments, 180 straight days of having my nose hairs scraped. Playing for very little fans or no stands the entire season. I got engaged, and I played some of the best football of my career.”

Last week, E! News reported that Rodgers and actress Shailene Woodley were dating and noted that “they have kept things private and low key.” Rodgers thanked his teammates in his acceptance speech and rattled off a slew of friends, including “my fiancée.”

Woodley is a star on the show Big Little Lies and has roles in the Divergent movie series, The Fault in Our Stars, and The Descendants, among other works.
