Four fans sitting courtside were ejected during Monday’s game between the Los Angeles Lakers and Atlanta Hawks after getting into a heated exchange with Lakers star LeBron James.
In video clips, a woman, Juliana Carlos, can be seen and heard screaming at James. The incident happened with more than eight minutes left in the fourth, leading security to intervene and escort them out. The Hawks have allowed fans in a limited capacity this season during the pandemic.
After the game, James poked fun at Carlos — tweeting “Courtside Karen was MAD MAD!!” and included a series of laughing emojis.
James told reporters that he didn’t mind the confrontation, appearing to be in a jovial mood. He said he didn’t think it was warranted for the fans to be thrown out:
