WICHITA, Kan. (AP) - A former Wichita police officer and public school employee who was accused of molesting boys for 12 years pleaded no contest Friday to three counts.

Alex Robinson, 58, pleaded to one count of indecent liberties with a child and two counts of aggravated indecent solicitation of a child, the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office said.

He was scheduled to go on trial Monday on eight charges on allegations involving boys ages 11 to 14 that occurred over 12 years, starting in 2000, The Wichita Eagle reported.

The crimes Robinson pleaded to involved three victims who were abused in Wichita in 2011 and 2012, prosecutors said.

Robinson was a a 22-year veteran of the Wichita Police Department. He was the Wichita Public Schools safety services supervisor when he was arrested in January 2013.

The investigation began after a man reported Robinson had molested him repeatedly after they met through the Boys & Girls Club when the man was 11 or 12.

Robinson was convicted in a Colorado child sex abuse case that was reported shortly after the first victim came forward in Wichita. He was sentenced there in 2016 and served time before being transferred to Wichita last May.
