Ten days ago, the Philadelphia Eagles were reportedly expected to trade quarterback Carson Wentz in the coming days. But trade talks apparently have hit a snag.
The Athletic’s Zak Keefer reported that discussions between the Indianapolis Colts and the Eagles for Wentz continue, but Indianapolis “hasn’t significantly changed” its initial offer — and aren’t budging.
The Colts and the Chicago Bears are seen as the frontrunners for Wentz, who is coming off a career-worst season but is only a few years removed from looking like one of the best young quarterbacks in football. The Eagles are looking to trade Wentz after he was benched in 2020 for second-rounder Jalen Hurts.
While it’s been quiet, Eagles and Colts have continued trade talks for Carson Wentz. One important aspect of this, I’m told, is Indy hasn’t significantly changed its offer from where it started more than a week ago. For the most part, Colts aren’t budging.

If traded to the Colts, Wentz would reunite with coach Frank Reich, his former offensive coordinator who helped guide the Eagles to the Super Bowl in the 2017 season.
Wentz, the second overall pick in 2016, threw just 16 touchdowns to 15 interceptions last season and completed only 57.6% of his passes.
The Philadelphia Inquirer reported the Eagles could use the sixth overall pick in this coming draft to select another quarterback
Spoke with NFL management source (not from Eagles) about the Wentz melodrama. His viewpoint: If Wentz doesn’t want the Bears, Bears aren’t gonna trade for him. Eventually the Eagles take whatever Indy is offering, maybe a second plus something. Also, Eagles draft a QB 6th overall
