Tom Brady’s final — and perhaps most risky — throw of the season came when he launched the Lombardi Trophy off his boat toward teammate Rob Gronkowski during the Buccaneers’ boat parade last week. Brady completed the pass, of course.

But the decision to use the silver football trophy as an actual projectile left one person demanding an apology.

Lorraine Grohs, who says her father Greg crafted Lombardi trophies from 1967 to 1994 as the master silversmith at Tiffany & Co., has asked Brady for an apology. Grohs told Fox 4 in Southwest Florida that Brady’s throw was disrespectful.

“It just upset me that this trophy was disgraced and disrespected by being thrown as if it was a real football,” Grohs told Fox 4. “I have a big history of this trophy being made by my father and it’s such an honor and I know all the craftsmen that made it when my dad was there also at Tiffany’s and it takes a lot of hard work.”

If Brady hadn’t completed the pass, that trophy might be at the bottom of the river.

Grohs said she watches the Super Bowl each year so she can see the pride from players, coaches and owners when they lift the trophy. After seeing Brady throw it, she said she’s experienced sleepless nights.

“I personally would like an apology,” Grohs said, “not just to me and my family and the other silversmiths, but to the fans, all the football fans, the other team players.”
