SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) - Allegiant Air will soon begin twice-weekly service from Shreveport to Los Angeles International Airport, company officials announced.

The flights will operate on Mondays and Fridays, The Shreveport Times reported. They begin July 2.

It will mark the first time in Shreveport Regional Airport’s 68-year history that planes will leave the airport nonstop to Los Angeles.

Allegiant began operating in Shreveport 15 years ago with nonstop flights to Las Vegas and seasonal service to Orlando and Destin-Fort Walton.
