FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Three lawyers have been nominated for a vacant circuit court judgeship in Kentucky, the state Supreme Court announced.

The Judicial Nominating Commission’s nominees are Paul Eugene Craft of Russell, Brian Christopher McCloud of Worthington and Matthew Jackson Warnock of Ashland. Chief Justice John D. Minton Jr. meets with the commission to choose the nominees.

The vacancy is in the 20th Judicial Circuit, which includes Greenup and Lewis counties.

Craft is city attorney for the cities of Worthington and South Shore, McCloud is a district court judge for Greenup and Lewis counties and Warnock is an assistant county attorney for Greenup County.

The seat was left vacant when Judge Robert Conley was elected as a justice for the state Supreme Court in November.

The list of nominees is sent to the governor, who has 60 days to appoint a replacement.
