Here’s something that wasn’t expected a month ago when it was 2-6: The Washington Football Team is one of the hottest tickets in the NFL.

Well, just for this week.

No doubt it’s, at least in part, because coach Ron Rivera’s gutsy bunch of overachievers has become one of the NFL’s feel-good stories. But it doesn’t hurt that this week’s opponent is the Dallas Cowboys — one of the league’s biggest attractions wherever they play.

Only one other game in the NFL this week will cost fans as much as the Washington-Dallas game Sunday at FedEx Field, according to ticket website StubHub. For most of this week, the cheapest tickets on StubHub for Washington’s game were $250 to $300 — in the nosebleeds. As of Thursday afternoon, that price fell to $195.

Want to sit closer to the field? That’ll cost between $350 and $750 per ticket.

The only game in the NFL this week with ticket prices higher than Washington’s is Buffalo’s game at Tampa Bay, with the least expensive ticket on StubHub at $219. However, all of the Buccaneers’ home games are expensive. Some quarterback named Tom Brady may have something to do with that.

Most NFL games this weekend are hovering around $50-75 for the cheapest tickets.

The majority of tickets remaining on Washington’s website are for the less-popular club-level seats. Those tickets are $400-500 apiece. The team also has some upper-deck tickets for $200-300 and standing-room-only tickets for $99.

The higher ticket prices Sunday are not the norm for the Burgundy and Gold. Tickets for their only other remaining home game this season — Jan. 2 against Philadelphia — are going for $65.
