The pain of the beatdown on “Sunday Night Football” keeps getting worse, with Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones the latest to kick the Washington Football Team while it’s down.

Two days after his team crushed Washington 56-14 on national television, Jones mocked the Burgundy and Gold’s customized benches they brought to the game.

Jones was asked during his weekly radio interview on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas Tuesday morning about the heated benches, and he joked that he wishes he could keep Washington’s benches after how well his team played on Sunday.

“Those benches, I’d just as soon keep them, if we can lock them down out there and maybe keep them out there permanently,” Jones said. “That’s not going to be able to happen and [Washington owner Dan] Snyder’s a good friend. So be it. We’ve had good luck with those benches, and the bench story has been kind of one that makes me smile a bit.”

Jones is far from the first person to troll Washington, as many fans noticed the optics of being blown out in primetime while sitting on customized, heated benches.

The bench situation started earlier this month when Dallas brought heated benches to Landover for its game against Washington. The Burgundy and Gold then copied the tactic by acquiring their own benches for the team’s road games against Philadelphia and Dallas.

Washington is 0-3 since “benchgate” started — falling from 6-6 and an NFC wild card team to 6-9 and with almost no chance to make the playoffs.
