OPINION:
Former vice presidential contender and ex-Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, speaking from Phoenix, Arizona, on America’s coronavirus chaos, called out the flip-flopping nature of Dr. Anthony Fauci’s science, the failure of the medical community to talk up natural immunity and the unconstitutional, unlawful aspects of a vaccine mandate.
And she issued all these scathing assessments after recovering from a bout of COVID-19 herself.
That is to say: America should not be run by fear. Americans should not lose their God-given rights and civil liberties just because there’s a new virus in town.
“It’ll be over my dead body that I’ll have to get a shot,” Palin told Turning Point founder Charlie Kirk, at the group’s AmericaFest 2021. “I will not do that. I won’t do it, and they better not touch my kids, either.”
Medical choice is a concept that’s been ingrained within America’s system of freedoms for decades. In one 1905 case, for instance, Pratt V. Davis, the appellate court wrote — in finding for the cause of individual choice over forced medical procedure — that “under a free government at least, the citizen’s first and greatest right, which underlies all others — the fight to the invisibility of his person, in other words, his right to himself is the subject of universal acquiescence, and this right necessarily forbids a physician or surgeon, however skillful or eminent … to violate without permission the bodily integrity of his patient.”
Only in the matter of the vaccine mandates, it’s not even a skilled medical professional who’s making the decision for the American people — the patients. It’s the political class. It’s the business class. It’s the president of the United States. It’s the private-sector employer.
“I think if enough of us,” Palin said, The Washington Examiner reported, “rise up and say, ‘No, enough is enough,’ there are more of us than there are of them.”
She also said Americans need to “stiffen their spines” to the fight.
Agreed. The vaccine mandates are the most serious threat to liberty Americans currently face. Failure to recognize that fight, and to fight accordingly, will eventually erode every other constitutional freedom to the point of this nation turning dictatorial.
The concept — called God-given rights — will be eradicated.
America will be free in name only.
And our face-mask-wearing fearful children will have no dream left to live.
