The Washington Football Team isn’t the only NFL squad dealing with COVID issues this week.
The NFL on Monday reported 37 players tested positive for COVID-19 — the highest single-day count for the league since the pandemic began.
Monday is the universal testing day for NFL players.
Among the most notable players to test positive are Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey, Washington defensive tackle Jonathan Allen and Chargers left tackle Rashawn Slater.
Washington currently has eight players on the COVID-19 list, in addition to a team employee who became the first person associated with the NFL to contract the new omicron variant, according to multiple reports.
The NFL reported in November that 94% of the league’s players are vaccinated. Unvaccinated players who test positive must isolate for 10 days away from the team’s facility. Vaccinated players, however, can return once they have tested negative twice, 24 hours apart, and have been asymptomatic for at least two days.
