OPINION:
Hollywood’s Kirstie Alley took to Twitter to slap down the White House press secretary’s poor manners, calling out Jen Psaki as a “mean girl” mirror image whose condescending demeanor is growing tiresome.
Multiply that times a few million and there’s a description that fits most of modern-day Democrats.
Condescension plus arrogance equals Democrat.
“Omg Jen [Psaki] … can you answer ANY question FULLY and without that condescending smirk? We are an audience of Americans who are listening in earnest for answers, not mean girl [expletive],” Alley tweeted. “Build your manners back better.”
Yes.
Less Build Back Better.
More Miss Manners.
For Democrats, truly, polite respect comes with a grimace. And it’s not just conservatives who notice.
“The Hubris of Barack W. Obama,” The Atlantic wrote in 2011.
“Obama’s hubris problem,” Politico wrote in April 2013.
“His Majesty Obama,” USNews.com wrote in April 2015. That piece went on to critique the then-president’s “criticism of Scott Walker on Iraq” as dripping with “hubris.”
There’s more.
“Obama’s hubris on the loose,” the New York Daily News wrote in 2016.
“Letter: Obama’s legacy is mostly about misplaced hubris,” the Treasure Coast published in January 2017.
And it’s not just Psaki. It’s not just Obama.
“DNC Staff: Arrogance Cost Clinton the Election,” USNews.com reported in November 2016 about Hillary’s White House loss to Donald Trump.
“Nancy Pelosi is considered ‘rich and arrogant’ by other Dems,” The Daily Mail wrote, in May of 2020.
“The Democratic Party’s Lethal Arrogance,” Commentary reported in October 2018.
“Arrogant Democrats are Republicans’ best friends,” The Washington Examiner opined in November.
And surveys show: Democrats indeed are the party for elitists. As Investor’s Business Daily wrote in a 2017 editorial about an ABC News/Washington Post survey that found the vast majority of voters viewed the Democrat Party as out-of-touch with the concerns of most in the country, “Now We Know: It’s Liberals Who Are Out-Of-Touch, Arrogant, Smug And Intolerant.”
Not much has changed since 2017.
“Jen Psaki’s Arrogance Is Maddening” is the title of one thread on Forums Forums started back in May.
True. That may be. But then again, it’s just the signature feature of the Democrat Party.
