We may never know the origins of this virus that has killed 600,000 Americans.

This week, a new GOP Congressional report alleges that the Chinese Communist Party actively conspired to cover up the COVID-19 virus leak, indicating that the virus may have been spreading around the globe as early as August or September 2019 — several months earlier than previously reported.

The GOP report details how the Wuhan Institute of Virology took its database offline on Sept. 12, 2019, and how dozens of athletes who attended the 2019 Military World Games in Wuhan in October of that year came down with what we now know are COVID-19 symptoms. Commercial satellite imagery also shows increased activity at six Wuhan hospitals next to the Wuhan Institute of Virology in September and October 2019.

There are presently several Congressional committees investigating the origins of the January 6th so-called “insurrection.” Yet, there is not a single committee led by Congressional Democrats into the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has killed more than 600,000 Americans. Just last month, House Democrats voted down a bill passed unanimously by the Senate, which would require the declassification of intelligence surrounding the origins of COVID-19 and hold Communist China accountable.

Meanwhile, the Biden administration has taken aim at Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, blaming the spread of the virus on their political foes instead of China.

“I say to these governors: please help,” Mr. Biden said on Tuesday. “And if you aren’t going to help, at least get out of the way.”

Specifically, Mr. Biden criticized Mr. DeSantis and Mr. Abbott for not embracing his administration’s support for mask mandates and vaccine passports. Also, he attacked the governors for vowing to keep their states open.

“The people are trying to do the right thing,” he said. “Use your power to save lives.”

Days after the GOP House COVID-19 report broke, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki was asked if President Biden thinks China should pay the U.S. financially for unleashing the virus on the world. Ms. Psaki brushed off the question, replying, “Our policy hasn’t changed,” before pivoting to another, unrelated question.

In the same briefing, Ms. Psaki was asked what the U.S. could do to prevent another pandemic. Instead of offering a workable solution, she donned her partisan hat and once again politicized the pandemic. She claimed that the best way to prevent another pandemic is to pass Mr. Biden’s radical spending agenda. Under the Biden administration, it is U.S. taxpayers — not China — who be on the hook.

As for Mr. Biden’s 90-day-review of the virus’s origins, don’t expect much. Biden administration officials have been frustrated by the CCP’s stonewalling of the investigation. Just last week, Secretary of State Antony Blinken reiterated U.S. support for the World Health Organization’s plans to conduct additional studies into COVID-19’s origins. This is the same W.H.O. that has helped China cover up its mishandling of the virus for the last 18 months. As recently as last February, the W.H.O. was still working feverishly to downplay the likelihood that the virus leaked from a Chinese lab.

China, for its part, has refused to cooperate with any international body and said it wouldn’t comply with the W.H.O.’s most recent investigation into the Wuhan Institute of Virology because, China claims, the organization does not “respect common sense and violated science.”

Democrats have no intention of getting to the bottom of the origin story because it doesn’t benefit them politically. The Democrat-controlled House is aiming its fire on former President Donald J. Trump, the White House is charging at any Republican governor who may threaten their political power in 2024, and the Senate is working as hard as it can to pass through Mr. Biden’s crazy, socialist spending agenda before the 2022 mid-terms.

For the Biden Administration and their partisan Democrats in Congress, there is simply no time to focus on what ignited one of the greatest pandemics of all time.
