Matt Gaetz matter flags hypocrisies of Democrats who sexualize youth

OPINION:

The age of consent for sexual intercourse in 34 states, plus the District of Columbia, is 16 years old; in six states, 17 years old; and in 11 states, 18 years old — all according to the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation at the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services.

So why do Democrats try so hard to sexualize the nation’s youth at every turn? That in itself seems just this side of criminal.

The question is interesting given the Matt Gaetz matter — the one where Gaetz is being investigated by the Justice Department for an alleged past “sexual relationship with a 17-year-old [whom he] paid for her to travel with him.”

He’s denied the allegations; he’s blamed the allegations on an extortion attempt; and there have been supporting statements that the extortion is a true event.

The investigation will continue.

Democrats, meanwhile, want his head. Now. With or without proof of guilt. They want him gone.

“Florida Democratic Party wants Rep. Matt Gaetz to resign,” WTSP reported.

“Former Congresswoman Katie Hill, a Democrat from California who resigned amid allegations of sexual relationships with two members of her staff, called on Congressman Matt Gaetz … to step down from Congress if allegations of sexual misconduct against him are found to be true,” CBS News wrote.

And yes, Gaetz should probably go if the allegations prove true.

But it’s an odd argument for Democrats to make.

You can’t cheer kids into having sex and then condemn the sexual escapades that result.

You can’t seriously condemn sex with 17-year-olds — where it’s legal in 34 states, including the District — while simultaneously calling for schools to pass out condoms to kids.

While simultaneously calling for repeals of laws that require minor-age girls notify their parents of their scheduled abortions.

While pressing libraries around the country to invite dressed-up drag queens to conduct children’s story hours.

While pushing for state laws mandating LGBTQ history in the schools — and the accompanying not-so-subtle discussions that would ensue regarding sexual choices and sexual preferences.

Fact is, Democrats sexualize youth at every turn.

That would make their condemnations of Gaetz hypocritical, ironic and solely political.

But this does seem an opportune time to revisit the sexual education policies of Democrats. After all, if the age of consent ranges between 16 and 18, how can it be logical, even legal, to teach little kids the very thing that is deemed unlawful? To dangle the very fruit that is then determined, at least in certain situations, in certain politically charged circumstances, in certain politically expedient situations, to be wrong, reprehensible, criminal?

That would — that should — make the pushers of the information the partners in crime.
