DANDRIDGE, Tenn. (AP) - Wildlife officers are investigating a boating accident on an East Tennessee lake that left one man dead.

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency said two bass fishing boats collided on Douglas Lake on Saturday morning.

Billy Ray Martin, 65, of Pikeville, Kentucky, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other occupant of his boat was being treated for serious injuries, the agency said.

Both occupants of the other boat were not injured. The agency said one of the boats was involved in a bass fishing tournament.

The cause of the crash was under investigation by the agency.

Located at the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains, Douglas Lake covers about 28,000 acres (11,330 hectares) and is known for its bass fishing. The lake is only a few miles from the Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg tourist areas.
