OPINION:
Black Lives Matter is a joke of an organization, spreading misinformation and lies meant to divide and ruin America.
Ma’Khia Bryant was shot and killed by a police officer last week in Columbus, Ohio, after she was caught wielding a knife trying to stab another teenage girl. The cops arrived on the scene after receiving two 911 calls asking for help. Although Columbus police haven’t identified who the callers were, the police officers were clearly trying to save the life of Black girl — body camera footage of the entire interaction proves it.
Yet, Black Lives Matter has tried to reframe the narrative — to promote racial strife and bitterness against law enforcement officers.
“At the exact same time the verdict of Derek Chauvin was being read for murdering George Floyd, police wasted no time in senselessly taking another Black child,” an official statement of the incident reads on the Black Lives Matter website.
“Ma’Khia Bryant. We say her name. Ma’Khia Bryant called the police for help,” the statement continues. “Columbus police officer Nicholas Reardon showed up and shot this 16-year-old child point blank within a matter of seconds. Another Black life stolen with no regard.”
All of it is factually inaccurate. It is unknown if Ma’;Khia is the one that placed the 911 call. What is known, is Ma’Khia never approached police when they arrived at the scene and was reaching back with her knife, lunging at another girl pinned against a side of a car when she was shot.
The factually inaccurate statement has proliferated on Twitter, with the social media giant not stepping in to label it as “misinformation” or to take it down. It also can be shared on Facebook and Instagram — all with no regard for the truth.
Black Lives Matter doesn’t care about Black lives being taken by other Black lives. It only cares about Black lives being taken at the hands of a cop. Its entire mission is to defund and abolish the police, which would most certainly lead to more Black lives lost.
Two of the three Black Lives Matter co-founders have proudly described themselves as “trained Marxists.” They don’t want to reform the system, they want to tear it down completely.
One of its co-founders, Patrisse Cullors, viewed candidate Joseph R. Biden as too moderate during the campaign, accusing him of having an “old guard mentality” and coming from “an old establishment.”
Now that he’s in the White House, her group seems to have caught his ear.
White House press secretary Jen Psaki called Ma’Khia’s shooting “tragic,” explaining how she was “just a child.” Ms. Psaki said it was the White House’s focus “to address systemic racism and implicit bias head-on” by passing legislation on “much-needed” police reforms.
Never mind that Ma’Khia was wielding a weapon and charging at another girl. The Biden White House would much rather use Black Lives Matter’s propaganda than stand up for the men and women serving in blue.
