GUILFORD, Vt. (AP) - Two people have been injured in a fire at a home on property that was the site of a large weekend get together with friends and family in Guilford, Vermont State Police said Tuesday.
The fire was reported shortly before 9:30 a.m. Monday. When firefighters arrived the entire four floors of the home, which was built to look like a silo, were engulfed in flames.
Allison and Michael Postmus, the homeowners, were inside and received burns and injuries from jumping out of the fourth-floor window, police said. They were taken to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital and then flown to Mass General Hospital in Boston because of their injuries.
Friends and family had stayed in tents and vehicles on the property, police said.
Fire investigators have classified the cause of the fire as undetermined. The Vermont Arson Tip Award Program offers up to $5,000 for any information that will lead to the arrest of anyone involved in the crime of arson. Anyone with additional information or who witnessed the events before the fire are also encouraged to contact the Vermont State Police in Westminster.
