ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Police in St. Paul have arrested a 14-year-old boy suspected of fatally shooting another teenager.

Seventeen-year-old Jorge Batres, of Coon Rapids, was found with a gunshot wound to the head in a pickup truck on Tuesday evening. He was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

Witnesses told police they saw someone running from the scene after shots were fired. Officers arrested the boy nearby.

He’s being held in the Ramsey County Juvenile Detention Center, police said.

The circumstances of the shooting remain under investigation and the Ramsey County attorney’s office is reviewing the case.

The homicide is the 22nd in St. Paul this year which is a 46% increase over the same time last year.
