BOSTON (AP) - An employee of the Boston area’s public transit system has been killed at an agency bus yard, the agency’s head said Monday.
The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority worker was injured at the bus yard in the city’s Charlestown neighborhood at about 5 a.m., transit police said. The victim was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital with serious injuries, but later died.
“We all mourn collectively for this terrible accident and this loss of life,” MBTA General Manager Steve Poftak said at a news conference.
The person’s name was not made public pending notification of family, he said.
The agency is investigating.
No other information was released.
