JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) - A Jefferson City man charged with threatening to shoot people at a Walmart last year has been sentenced to probation.
Nicholas Pratte, 39, was sentenced Tuesday to two years of unsupervised probation after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor count of making a terrorist threat, KMIZ-TV reported. He was originally charged with a felony.
Pratte also was ordered to stay away from Walmart.
Court records said Pratte threatened to get a gun and shoot people after supervisors criticized his productivity during a meeting in September 2019.
Walmart officials hired outside security to safeguard the store after Pratte made the threats.
A co-worker told investigators Pratte also threatened to shoot up his daughter’s school before making the comments at Walmart, according to court documents.
