LAS VEGAS (AP) - An annual report has again put the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, near the top of its list of nation’s most diverse campuses.
U.S. News & World Report’s listing of campus ethnic diversity placed UNLV third, behind the University of Hawaii-Hilo and Andrews University in Michigan. Rutgers University-Newark placed fourth.
The survey of 389 schools was based on 2019 enrollment.
UNLV consistently ranks near the top in the U.S. News diversity report, and campus President Keith Whitfield told the Las Vegas Sun that brings varied perspectives to research and classroom discussions, and strengthens the quality of the learning environment.
UNLV’s fall 2019 enrollment of nearly 26,000 students was 31% Latino, 16% Asian and 8% Black. White students accounted for 28% of the student body and 10% of students identified as multiracial.
