Just like everyone predicted, the Washington Football Team leads the NFC East after Week 1.

Washington was the only team in the division to win this week as the Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants all lost. The Cowboys lost to the Los Angeles Rams on “Sunday Night Football,” while the Giants fell to the Pittsburgh Steelers on “Monday Night Football.” Washington, of course, upset the Eagles in a 27-17 comeback victory.

We know. It’s early.

But that didn’t stop people with having some fun with Washington’s place in the division on social media:

It may seem like a small accomplishment, but Washington went winless in the NFC East last year. And it hadn’t beaten the Eagles in its last six matchups. The Eagles won the division in 2019, too.

We show that we can play with the best team in the NFC East and that’s the Philadelphia Eagles,” coach Ron Rivera said. “So, we played well against them, and we were fortunate to come out on top. They are a very well-coached team. They have tremendous football players and we know that, but our guys bowed their necks when they had to.”
