CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - A federal judge in West Virginia has postponed a trial date in a lawsuit filed by the city of Huntington and Cabell County over the opioid crisis.

The lawsuit accuses drug distributors AmerisourceBergen, Cardinal Health and McKesson of fueling the local opioid epidemic. The trial has been moved from Oct. 19 to Jan. 4, 2021.

“The City of Huntington and Cabell County, West Virginia, and the thousands of other communities impacted by the opioid epidemic deserve their day in court,” said Paul Farrell Jr., an attorney representing the plaintiffs.
