The NFL’s COVID-19 problem didn’t become any easier Wednesday as more positive tests raise questions about this week’s slate of games.

New England Patriots star cornerback Stephon Gilmore tested positive for the coronavirus — joining quarterback Cam Newton to be diagnosed with COVID-19. Gilmore’s result comes two days after he and the Patriots played in Kansas City on Monday.

In addition to Gilmore, the Tennessee Titans had two more players test positive — dashing the team’s hopes of reopening their facility. The Titans’ outbreak caused last Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers to be postponed, and now still cannot practice. Tennessee’s new cases are a setback as the team previously went the last two days without a positive result.

The Titans are still scheduled to play the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, but that game could now be in jeopardy with the team still battling an outbreak.

Likewise, it remains to be seen whether New England’s game against Denver will still be played.

The Kansas City Chiefs, who played the Patriots on Monday, don’t have any new positive tests so far.
