The Baltimore Ravens tied down another one of their young stars with a hefty contract extension, this time securing All-Pro left tackle Ronnie Stanley on a five-year deal, the team announced Friday morning.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the extension is worth $98.75 million.
Stanley has been a fixture for the Ravens’ line since the organization drafted him in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft. The Notre Dame product has started 61 games, and Stanley earned All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors for his work during the 2019 season, helping Baltimore rush for 3,296 yards — a single-season NFL record — while scoring the most points per game with 33.2.
Heading into the 2020 campaign, Pro Football Focus rated Stanley as the fourth-best offensive tackle in the NFL. The 26-year-old earned a 93.3 pass-block grade and a 76.2 run-block grade last year, according to PFF’s graders, making Stanley one of three tackles to reach the top 10 in both metrics last season.
Stanley also won PFF’s Best Pass-Blocker award in 2019, having allowed just six pressures on passing plays in 16 games.
“We are excited to announce a five-year contract extension with Ronnie Stanley through the 2025 season,” Ravens executive vice president and general manager Eric DeCosta said in a statement. “Ronnie is the mainstay on our offensive line. He’s a shutdown left tackle who excels on the field and in our community. This is just the beginning for Ronnie, and we could not be happier for him and his family.”
Earlier this month, Baltimore signed All-Pro cornerback Marlon Humphrey to a five-year extension, with his average yearly salary of $19.5 million making him the second-highest-paid cornerback in the league.
