LANDOVER — Washington safety Landon Collins is out for the remainder of Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys with an ankle injury.

Collins suffered the injury in the second quarter. The 26-year-old got hurt on what seemed to be a non-contact injury. The safety was chasing after Cowboys quarterback Andy Dalton on third down as his leg appeared to give out.

Collins remained on the ground for several seconds before limping off with Washington’s trainers by his side. Once he returned to his sideline, he was ruled out quickly.

The Pro Bowler, who signed with Washington last year, was carted off to the locker room. Wearing his helmet, Collins had his head down the entire time.

Before his injury, Collins had the highlight of his season — stripping Dalton in the first quarter on a blitz on a play which was recovered in the end zone for the safety.
