LACONIA, N.H. (AP) - A New Hampshire hospital moved to file Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Monday.
Lakes Region General Hospital has begun the legal and regulatory process of filing Chapter 11 and has received an offer from Concord Hospital to potentially acquire hospital assets, WMUR-TV reported.
Concord Hospital could acquire Lakes Region General Hospital, Franklin Regional Hospital and all other outpatient care locations.
LRGHealthcare President and CEO Kevin W. Donovan wrote to patients and employees that the hospital will remain through the process.
“This legal and regulatory process will play out in the courts and not in the walls of our hospitals,” Donovan wrote. “Our team of outstanding doctors, nurses and support staff will remain focused on providing the health care services you need.”
Gov. Chris Sununu released a statement that said “This potential acquisition by Concord Hospital is welcome news and provides a path toward long term financial stability that will allow LRGH to continue to provide critical services for the citizens of the Lakes and Three Rivers region. The state has and will continue to provide any resources that are necessary to enable LRG Healthcare to continue services while it navigates this process.”
