BOSTON (AP) - Early voting gets underway this weekend in Massachusetts, where Bostonians will be able to cast ballots at Fenway Park and other venues.

Voting starts Saturday and runs through Oct. 30. People registered to vote in Boston will be able to vote Saturday and Sunday at Fenway, one of at least three Major League Baseball stadiums around the country that have been approved as early voting venues.

Red Sox owner John Henry offered the storied open-air ballpark for voters hesitant to cast ballots indoors because of the coronavirus pandemic.

“We really want to use our brand … and the power of Fenway Park, the power of the Red Sox, to just encourage people to vote whichever way they decide to vote,” Red Sox spokeswoman Zineb Curran said Friday.

The Red Sox played at Fenway during their truncated 60-game season, but fans weren’t allowed inside.
