ASHBURN —- Dwayne Haskins is still battling an illness and was not at practice Wednesday. The Washington quarterback, demoted to third-string last week, missed Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams with a stomach virus.

A team spokesman said Haskins’ illness is not believed to be related to COVID-19.

Haskins, 23, was benched last week after four games in which Washington went 1-3. Washington turned to Kyle Allen and made veteran Alex Smith the back up.

Haskins’ illness comes as trade rumors swirl involving the 2019 first-rounder. CBS Sports reported over the weekend that Haskins’ camp believes a trade would be the best outcome for his career, while citing sources within the team that a deal is the most likely outcome.

ESPN reported that no team has reached out about Haskins’ availability.
