LANDOVER — Alex Smith’s comeback is complete.

The 36-year-old quarterback entered Sunday’s game with two minutes left in the first half — marking his first action since breaking his leg in November 2018. Smith came into the game after Washington starter Kyle Allen exited the game with an apparent arm injury.

Smith was active for the first time Sunday since his injury. Last week, Washington benched starter Dwayne Haskins, demoting him all the way to third string. That put Smith in the position to be the backup.
