Joy Behar says presumptive President-elect Joseph R. Biden reminds her of Superman in the wake of the 2020 election.
The ladies of ABC’s “The View” talked the DC Comics superhero, throwing parties, and the need for Republican voters to “suck it up” as a result of the Democrat’s electoral performance.
“What is it that Superman always said,” Ms. Behar said. “’Truth, justice, and the American way.’ It’s back. It’s back! I don’t think that people understand. … I am not exaggerating.”
Co-host Whoopi Goldberg, who has refused to say President Trump’s name out loud for years, rejoiced as well.
“What’s really remarkable for me is in two months I’ll be able to say the next president’s name out loud: Joe Biden,” Ms. Goldberg said.
Her statement, however, hinges on legal challenges by the Trump campaign being dropped by the Republican or decided in Mr. Biden’s favor by the courts.
The president maintains that he is willing to take key states all the way to the Supreme Court if necessary to settle accusations of voter fraud involving mail-in ballots.
“People are dancing in the streets, yes, all over America, around the world,” Ms. Goldberg continued. “At my house, [Mr. Biden] is the president-elect and Kamala Harris is our next vice president.”
Ms. Goldberg added that Americans who disagree with her should “suck it up.”
“When you-know-who was elected four years ago, you know, Hillary Clinton didn’t say, ’hey, wait a minute. This doesn’t feel right. Stop the count.’ … All of you suck it up! Suck it up like we sucked it up!”
“All of you, suck it up — suck it up like we sucked it up.”@WhoopiGoldberg to those who won’t acknowledge that Biden won: “You’re bringing into question all these Americans who voted legally, came out and stood and voted. How dare you question it?” https://t.co/f8u2wbJuik pic.twitter.com/LxcHhqbLXW
