The Atlanta Falcons know a little something about blowing leads.
Just this season, the Falcons lost a game in which they led by 20, surrendered a lead with four seconds left and gave up a go-ahead touchdown with two seconds left. Then, there’s their most famous collapse: Super Bowl 51 in which they led 28-3 over the New England Patriots.
So on Tuesday, when President Trump’s commanding lead in Georgia started to shift toward Joe Biden, jokes were made:

Trump called Georgia early because he knows he playing like the Falcons.

Social media users also had some fun with Trump’s live odds for re-election took such a dramatic swing on election night — prompting more Atlanta punchlines:
Saw some Trump -550 as I went to bed. Wake up to Biden -170. This is like a Falcons game.

When I fell asleep last night Trump was on his way to re-election. When I woke up somehow the #DallasCowboys beat the #Falcons 🤷😂🏈 #Election2020 pic.twitter.com/qyIXebwU7D

Bovada odds are like watching a Falcons game in the fourth quarter. Trump went from -700 to -300 in about 6 minutes

Trump “won” the election night the same way the Falcons “won” Super Bowl LI. pic.twitter.com/Nzlzp1Sm99

Of course, the final result of the election has yet to be decided. But that hasn’t stopped people from having fun at Atlanta’s expense.
