LEWISTON, Maine (AP) - Police in Maine said Tuesday they’ve charged a 20-year-old man in connection with the Halloween shooting death of a man in Lewiston.
Abdikadir Nur of Auburn was charged with murder stemming from the death of Hassan Hassan, police said. The arrest took place on Monday night in Auburn, police said.
Nur had been out on bail following an arrest and charge of elevated aggravated assault in July, police said. He’s being held at Androscoggin County Jail, police said. It was unclear on Tuesday if he had retained an attorney.
Police responded to the shooting around 7:30 p.m. on Halloween night. Hassan was taken to Central Maine Medical Center and died there as a result of his injuries
