Washington owner Dan Snyder and his wife Tanya won’t travel to Dallas for Thursday’s Thanksgiving game against the Cowboys after coming in contact with someone who recently tested positive for COVID-19.
Team president Jason Wright was also around that person, and also is not permitted to go to the game.
All three have tested negative for the coronavirus, but league protocols prohibit them from traveling due to recent exposure. This will be the second road game of the year that Snyder has missed. He also stayed home for Washington’s Week 2 loss to the Arizona Cardinals due to the same reason.
“In the last 24 hours we have learned that Dan and Tanya Snyder and Team President Jason Wright came in contact with a person, not affiliated with the team, who has tested positive for COVID,” the team said in a statement. “Dan, Tanya and Jason have all tested negative at this time for the virus and their contact with this individual was limited.
“However, due to team and NFL protocols, they will not be traveling to the game tomorrow against Dallas on Thanksgiving. The safety of our team and our staff is a top priority and we will continue to closely monitor the situation.”
Before this year, Snyder had never missed a road game in his 21 years of owning Washington, according to the team.
Washington plays Dallas at 4:30 p.m.
