Carson Wentz has done little to cast himself in positive light this season.
He’s thrown 14 interceptions to go along with his 14 touchdowns. His 58.4 completion percentage is the fourth worst in the league among quarterbacks with at least 100 passing attempts. His QBR rests at 73.3 — putting him between Andy Dalton and Garrett Gilbert.
His lackluster performances have prompted some onlookers to call on Eagles coach Doug Pederson to bench Wentz for rookie Jalen Hurts. Among those Wentz critics: Seahawks receiver D.K. Metcalf and running back DeeJay Dallas.
The pair, who will face Philadelphia this weekend, commented on an Instagram post asking if the Eagles should turn to Hurts at quarterback. Both gave full-hearted affirmations.

There’s no way to know if Dallas’ and Metcalf’s answers came with the best intentions for the Eagles’ success, or if they think Hurts gives Seattle a better chance to win on Monday. Either way, it could add an extra fire for Wentz when he faces a Seahawks defense that has allowed the most passing yards of any team this season.
Pederson said he was sticking with Wentz, even after the team’s 22-17 loss to the Browns — keeping the NFC East playoff picture wide open. However, Pederson admitted he thinks he can incorporate Hurts more into the offense moving forward in select situations.
