Bill Maher’s final “Real Time” episode of the 2020 season took Democrats to task for coronavirus hypocrisy akin to “getting s—-faced with Mothers Against Drunk Driving.”

The comedian blasted House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, California Gov. Gavin Newsom, and Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot for flouting health regulations imposed on millions of Americans.

“Democrats, who are always preaching wearing the masks, they keep getting caught doing what we’re not allowed to do,” he said Friday. “Nancy Pelosi did. Lori Lightfoot did. Now, Gavin Newsom. Did you see this? He was at some sort of birthday party indoors. I haven’t eaten indoors, publicly, since March, without a mask. And at the table, there were lobbyists from the California Medical Association. That’s like getting s—-faced with Mothers Against Drunk Driving.”

Mr. Newsom recently apologized to Californians after it was revealed that he went to the posh French Laundry restaurant in Napa County Nov. 6.

Similarly, Ms. Lightfoot attended a street party for presumptive President-elect Joseph R. Biden.

“There are times when we actually do need to have a relief and come together,” the Chicago Democrat said during an MSNBC appearance after the fact. “I felt like that was one of those times. That crowd was gathered whether I was there or not. But this has been a super hard year on everyone.”

Mr. Maher said politicians who openly disregard their own coronavirus rules should “jump in a lake.”
