With 44 seconds remaining in Monday night’s 19-13 Vikings win against the Bears, Chicago quarterback Nick Foles suffered a big hit — thrown to the ground onto his right hip — and required a cart to take him off the field.

But the Bears may have avoided the major injury initially feared. According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, the initial X-rays showed Foles did not fracture his hip or leg. And while there will be more tests to determine the extent of his injury, Foles will benefit from his team’s Week 11 bye to heal.

Chicago is already without quarterback Mitch Trubisky, who is dealing with a shoulder injury — although Trubisky could be back following the bye week, too. So Tyler Bray finished the game under center, going 1-for-5.

Foles joined Chicago in a trade this offseason and took over the starting job from Trubisky. After a 5-1 start to the season, though, the team has now lost four straight games to sit at an even .500, with the Vikings just half a game back in the division.

The former Super Bowl MVP threw for 106 yards and an interception in the latest loss to Minnesota, a downturn from his recent production. He threw for over 250 yards in each of his previous three games.
