Josh Allen is known for his arm, but apparently his hands are also pretty good.

The Bills pulled out a trick play midway through the first quarter Sunday against the Cardinals, putting Isaiah McKenzie in motion on a jet sweep. Allen handed the ball off to the wide receiver, then broke out left into the flat.

McKenzie stopped, looked back to Allen and then fired the ball the quarterback’s way, who — to his credit — didn’t drop it. Allen then made one defender miss on his way to the end zone for the 12-yard score.

With Allen reeling in a touchdown grab, he became the 11th Buffalo player to catch a touchdown pass this season, setting a franchise record. Allen had thrown 49 touchdown passes entering Sunday’s game.

He’s not the only quarterback to get involved in the passing game, though. Tom Brady tried it in Super Bowl LII, but he couldn’t hang on. Then Nick Foles turned around in that same game and pulled down a touchdown reception for the Eagles.

They called that play the “Philly Special.”

The stakes were much lower Sunday for Allen, but perhaps that trick play deserves a special name of its own, too. The Buffalo Brilliance, anyone?
