OPINION:
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez doesn’t belong in American politics because she’s an open socialist, and no socialist belongs in American politics because they can’t truthfully take the oath of office to uphold and protect the Constitution. They just can’t; that’s a fact. Socialism is not compatible with the U.S. Constitution.
But she made it to Congress. She did it by vote. She did it under guise of being a member of the Democratic Party.
And for the Democratic Party to now condemn her for being who she is, and who she has been all along — an open, vocal, loud-mouth, arrogant and elitist socialist — is not only eyeball-rolling. It’s called “just due.”
From the New York Dem Party leader, Jay Jacobs, who responded to Ocasio-Cortez’s finger-wagging at Democrats who want to silence the socialists so as not to alienate the moderates in elections to come — this: “AOC has no standing on how to run a general election in the suburbs and upstate. AOC is in a district that’s 6-1 Democrat and she couldn’t find a Republican in her district with binoculars. I invite AOC to come to Long Island and stand for election in one of our districts. You’ll see different results,” Fox News reported.
That’s politic-speak for “AOC, you’re an idiot. Stop talking.”
And just a few days ago, it was this, a headline from Forbes: “’Don’t Say Socialism Ever Again’: Democrats In Congress Push Back Against Lefty Messaging After Disappointing Election.”
What’s funny here is that Ocasio-Cortez is a creation of the Democratic Party.
Democrats opened the door to socialism; Democrats opened the door wide to socialist Ocasio-Cortez — so wide in fact that she was called the “future of the party” by the party’s chairman, Tom Perez, in 2018.
And now the party wants to turn on her and tell her to quiet down because voters, for the most part, at least for the most part outside of a select few narrowly drawn Marxist districts, to include Ocasio-Cortez’s own — because voters in America for the most part don’t want Marxism?
That’s rich.
That’s laughably, head-shakably, tsk-tsk-ably rich.
Democrats: You welcomed Ocasio-Cortez. You empowered Ocasio-Cortez. You elevated Ocasio-Cortez and emboldened her to become the mouthpiece of the party.
Now deal the consequences.
