Mac McClung will transfer to Texas Tech, he announced on Twitter Wednesday afternoon.
McClung played the last two seasons at Georgetown and entered the NBA draft in late March, but then withdrew his name and announced plans to leave the Hoyas.
The guard has two years of eligibility remaining but will require an NCAA waiver to play in 2020-21 without having to sit out a season.
McClung chose Texas Tech over Auburn, BYU, Memphis, USC, Arkansas and Wake Forest. The Red Raiders advanced to the 2019 national title game, where they lost to Virginia.

The 20-year-old’s decision was welcome news for some Texas Tech alumni who rooted for him to pick their school - most notably, Super Bowl-winning Chiefs quarterback Pat Mahomes.
“Come on and make a run at the natty in Lubbock!” Mahomes tweeted last week when McClung revealed Texas Tech was in his top seven. The quarterback went on to celebrate McClung’s decision Wednesday:

When McClung announced he intended to transfer, he told ESPN, “I’m looking for a place I can call home. A place I can be a part of a family and help them succeed.”
The native of Gate City, Virginia, averaged 15.7 points and 2.4 assists per game in 21 games as a sophomore.
