Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night offerings will soon have veteran producer Sharon Hoffman of “CBS Evening News,” “CBS This Morning” and “Good Morning America” charting the course for his show.
The comedian, known in many ways for anti-Trump rhetoric since 2016, will part ways with executive producer Jill Leiderman after 14 years.
The Hollywood Reported noted Tuesday that Ms. Hoffman has “moved fluidly between news and entertainment” throughout her career.
“I could not be more thankful for what Jill has done for our show and could not have asked for a better partner over the past 14 years,” Mr. Kimmel said of his parting producer, the entertainment magazine reported. “Her contributions to the growth of [“Jimmy Kimmel Live!”] are immeasurable, including finding her worthy successor Sharon Hoffman. We were very lucky to have Jill as long as we did and, while I am sad to see her go, I understand. I am sick of me, too.”
A statement by Ms. Leiderman noted that her decision was made to allow more time with her family and to focus on a “creative wish list” still incomplete.
“My professional partnership with Jimmy will only be outdone by our friendship,” she said of the host.
Mr. Kimmel is signed with ABC through 2022.
