The Washington Redskins were recognized Friday for the support they’re provided to the Maryland Army National Guard to start a testing site for COVID-19 at FedEx Field.

The 115th Military Police Battalion honored the Redskins during a ceremony at FedEx Field, presenting them with a plaque for their efforts. Soldiers from the unit were also recognized, awarded medals and ribbons for their work.

Major General Timothy E. Gowen said the Redskins were a “fantastic host” and thanked them.

We appreciate all the help that they provided in our efforts to get people tested and combat this terrible disease,” Gowen said in a press release.

The Redskins announced in late March that it would provide a testing site in the parking lot of FedEx Field, the team’s stadium in Landover, Maryland.
