GREAT BEND, Kan. (AP) - Six central Kansas residents have been arrested and police are searching for another person after an investigation into a methamphetamine ring.

Seven warrants were executed Wednesday in Barton, Stafford and Pawnee counties, Barton County Sheriff Brian Bellendir said. Five of the warrants were served in Great Bend, another in St. John and one in rural Larned, KAKE-TV reported.

The Barton County sheriff’s office and Great Bend police received information from several sources on a network for distributing methamphetamine. Bellendir said one of the sources was an inmate allegedly orchestrating drug deals on a recorded line in the Barton County jail.

Investigators recovered a large amount of cash, methamphetamine, drug processing materials and firearms. Three preschool-age children were taken into protective custody at one location, police said.
