LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - A 15-year-old boy has been accused of stabbing to death a Lincoln man earlier this month.

The teenager was arrested Monday and is charged with second-degree murder and a weapons count, Lancaster County Court records say. The Associated Press generally doesn’t name juveniles accused of crimes.

At least three people attacked Edward Varejcka, 36, on March 8, police have said. Officers sent to a central Lincoln apartment found Varejcka stabbed and a friend trying to resuscitate him. The officers took over until medics arrived, but the efforts failed to keep him alive.

People in the apartment when he was stabbed reported that intruders had entered it and attacked Varejcka. He lived elsewhere in Lincoln, police said.

Three people have been charged so far with aiding and abetting or being accessories to Varejcka’s slaying.
