Joe Scarborough says Joseph R. Biden’s “humanity” was on clear display this week after the former vice president snapped at a Michigan voter with insults and expletives.

The MSNBC host lambasted Republicans for their coverage of the story, which involved Mr. Biden calling an auto-plant employee a “horse’s ass” who was “full of s—-” for asking about gun control.

“Let’s talk about humanity,” Mr. Scarborough said in response to panelist Mike Barnicle after the subject was broached. “And talk about that moment where somebody made the mistake of saying he was going to take all their guns away. And I know Republicans just jumped on it.”

Mr. Scarborough then said that Republicans were hypocrites for not showing similar interest in President Trump’s rhetoric for political rivals, Hollywood celebrities, and members of the media.

“Oh, my God, can you believe a political figure using crass language? I mean come on, seriously? Look in the mirror, folks,” the “Morning Joe” host said, NewsBusters reported. “But Biden yesterday showed the other side of his humanity, and that is, he’s a fighter.”

Mr. Barnicle’s opinion was that voters who watch Mr. Biden in action should see “empathy … stability, and experience.”

Jerry Wayne, the Fiat-Chrysler employee at the center of the controversy, told “Fox & Friends” Wednesday morning that Mr. Biden “went off the deep end.”

“I saw he was digging a hole. I just kind of let him talk for a while to dig a hole,” he said.
