LAS VEGAS (AP) - Rainy weather was blamed for multiple crashes during the Tuesday morning commute in and around Las Vegas, including three involving school buses but none that left any children injured, authorities said.
Clark County school police Sgt. Bryan Zink said no students were on a bus that tipped on its side in a crash a little after 7 a.m. at the 215 Beltway and Durango Drive.
The driver and a school employee were taken to University Medical Center with injuries that Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Travis Smaka said were not believed to be life-threatening.
Smaka said there were two other school bus crashes on the same freeway in about the same area and about the same time, including one involving several vehicles. He said no injuries were reported and no children were aboard those buses.
Smaka attributed the crashes to slick road conditions.
The National Weather Service reported light rain for several hours at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas, beginning about 5 a.m.
