O.J. Simpson said he has accepted Drew Brees’ apology for saying he’d “never agree” with someone who takes a knee during the national anthem. 

Posting a video on Twitter, Simpson said he didn’t totally disagree with Brees, but said the New Orleans Saints quarterback was “missing the point.” He said kneeling wasn’t about disrespecting the military or the country, as Brees had suggested.

“Unfortunately, too many people, including our president, made it about that,” Simpson said

Since joining Twitter in 2019, Simpson has uploaded videos of himself reacting to current news events. The Hall of Fame running back was released from prison in 2017 after serving nine years for armed robbery, kidnapping and 10 other charges.
